Our products are made from sustainable, vegan materials, meaning that we have gone to great lengths to ensure no animals have been in any way harmed or affected through their manufacturing. Why is this important? Because not only is it ethical, it also makes sure we’re doing our bit in every possible way to reduce our carbon footprint. Using animal products and animal-derived materials has been proven to produce high carbon emissions and greenhouse gasses, so we’re doing our bit to make sure our products are really and truly kind to our planet.

  • Remove disposable liners and put them in the BIN (most disposable liners are NOT flushable, please check with your brand).

  • Place in your storage bucket or nappy pail bag (we recommend lining your bucket with a net laundry bag) until you are ready to wash.

We recommend air drying, as it’s more environmentally friendly. However, you can tumble dry on low when necessary.

Voila!

Your nappies are ready to stuff and reuse.

FAQ.

Can I use them from birth?

Absolutely! Our nappies are a true birth to potty (one size fits all) and is suitable or newborns (7lbs/3.2KG) up to toddlers. This is thanks to our unique design; including an additional rise setting (5 in total); front and back tummy elastics; and many other key features.

How should I dry the nappies?

We recommend air drying our nappies, ideally with the inner fabric exposed to direct sunlight, as the sun will naturally bleach the material and speed up drying time. When hanging the nappies, hang from the insert or lay flat, to protect the life span of the elastics on the PUL. Do not dry directly on a radiator as this can damage the PUL. our nappies should not be ironed or bleached.

How do I wash the nappies?

Our washing instructions can be found here: https://www.hippynut.com/product-information

Are reusable nappies easy to use?

Yes! We appreciate that the idea of reusable cloth nappies can seem complicated and hard work, but we've designed our nappies to be simple and straightforward. Our nappies have been designed using feedback from REAL cloth bum parents, who also contributed to the designs of our prints, to make our nappies a truly unique and simple experience.

Can I soak the nappies?

Never soak the nappies in any cleaning solution or water as this will damage the PUL (waterproof lining) as well as affect the absorbency of the nappy.

Can I use rash creams?

Rash/ bum cream can impair the absorbency of your nappy. If you do need to use a cream, you can buy one especially for use with cloth nappies. Alternatively, just ensure that you place a liner in the nappy to protect it.

How often do I change the nappy?

You would change cloth nappies just as often as you would a disposable. It varies from each baby and child, but on average you should expect to change the nappy every 2-3 hours.

Should I use a booster or liner as well?

The nappy alone is super absorbent and also has a stay dry layer on the top of the insert. However, you may wish to add a liner and additional boosting to make your changes easier. To add extra absorbency you have the option of our plant-based day or night time booster (or both) to pop into the back of the insert, which would allow you to change less frequently.

How many nappies do I need?

This is a good question. The answer very much depends on whether you will be using cloth nappies full-time or part-time. You will also need to think about how often you will be washing the nappies as this will affect how many you need. Most people tend to wash every 2-3 days.

As a guide, we recommend 20-25 nappies, if you are using cloth full time, and 12-15 if you're using them part-time.

Do I have to buy the inserts too? or does it come with one?

Our Wholenut All in One comes with a insert that contains 6 layers of bamboo and two bird eye mesh stay dry layers. You can use this nappy without adding anything else other than a liner for solids.

Can this be used over a disposable nappy to help contain explosions?

What you need is a nappy wrap, this is an all in one nappy with an absorbent sewn in insert. We recommend trying this on it's own.

Can I wash all the nappies together? Will the bright colored ones discolor on the white/neutral ones?

You can wash all the nappies, wipes, inserts, etc together just remember no fabric softener and non bio and they'll be fine.

Are these good for night time? My baby is 24 months and always leak at night.

Absolutely, we would recommend using this combined with our night hemp booster. You can also clip in the Day Hemp Booster for added absorption.j
